After her special needs son was discovered buried in their backyard, Larissa Rodriguez and her boyfriend Christopher Rodriguez were sentenced to prison. Rodriguez claims that on September 21, 2017, Jordan became suddenly ill. She told the detectives that as his stomach grew, so did his arms. He had hair loss. She claims that despite her best efforts, he never recovered. She claims he died the following day. She was questioned by detectives about why she never took him to the hospital. “I was scared that I was going to have all of [my kids] taken from me,” she said. Rodriguez confesses to detectives in three rounds of recently made public police interviews that she and her boyfriend buried her son in their backyard. "I was sitting with Jordan. It was like Jordan gave me his last words,” she said. “It was my idea [to bury him] and he just did it. Just because I didn’t want Jordan to be far away from me. I wanted him close. I was not ready to let Jordan go,” Larissa Rodriguez said. She acknowledges that her boyfriend wrapped her son's body before burying him in a hole that was dug three to four feet deep. Mothballs, bags, and blankets were all used to hide the crime. She also acknowledged lying to family members by claiming Jordan wasn't in the area. Her confession assisted the police in locating Jordan's body, which was five years old, exactly where she had said it would be. However, the couple was first noticed by the police thanks to Christopher Rodriguez's brother, who called them after learning about what had happened. Before he passed away, Jordan was discovered to have broken ribs among other wounds that gradually healed. Rodriguez denied any abuse she had done to her son. But Christopher, she claims, did. Her response to the question from the detectives was, "A few times I've seen, yes." She admitted to the police during the interview that she feels guilty for his death and that she bears "all the blame" for what transpired. “I still loved him,” she said, “He’s my kid.”
