Stoni died in May 2013 and Stephen in August 2012, spending over two years in the freezer.

CRIME CHAMPS -VS- CHOMOS

Child molesters are either preferential (sexually prefer children) or situational (engage with children for complex reasons). Common traits: fantasies about children, consistent patterns, seeing children as objects of sex, sophisticated victim targeting. Indicators include criminal history, strained peer relationships, access to children, and activities involving them. After conviction, they might reveal knowledge of serious crimes like child rings and are at suicide risk, notably if from a middle-class, first-time offender background.

MADELINE SOTO

13-year-old Madeline Soto from Kissimmee, FL vanished on Feb 26, 2024. Her mom, Jennifer, reported her missing after Madeline wasn't at school. Stephan Sterns, Jennifer's boyfriend, claimed he dropped Madeline near the school. A 4-day search began. Sterns was a suspect; disturbing media was found on his phone. He faced charges. Madeline was found dead on Mar 1 in Osceola County, where Sterns' car was seen. Police believe she was dead when Sterns was supposed to take her to school. He was seen disposing of her belongings. A grand jury later charged Sterns with first-degree murder, with prosecutors seeking the death penalty.

TAMIR RICE

Tamir Rice, 12, was shot by officer Timothy Loehmann in Cleveland on Nov 22, 2014, while holding a toy gun. Police, responding to a call about a male with a gun at Cudell Park, weren't informed it was likely fake and the individual was likely a juvenile. Officers claimed they shouted "show me your hands," and Loehmann said he thought Rice was drawing a gun. Rice was hit once in the torso from two shots fired and died the next day. The patrol car was still moving when Rice was shot.

Security footage showed him buying a hatchet two weeks before the murders. The Crown sought a 50-year term, but defense accepted a 25-year life sentence.
