The majority of 10-year-old Takoda Collins' brief life was spent locked up and nude in his father Al-Mutahan McLean's attic. On December 13, 2019, Takoda Collins passed away at the Dayton Children's Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Al-Mutahan McLean, his father, was later detained and charged with r***** and abusing Takoda. Also living in the house were Amanda Hinze, McLean's ex-girlfriend, and her sister, Jennifer Ebert. The prosecutors' memorandum claims that Takoda spent his final hours in "Hellish" circumstances. Takoda is said to have been beaten and mistreated while living in the attic, locked up and nude. Following interviews with Amanda Hinze and her sister Jennifer Ebert, McLean's girlfriend, the police investigation relates Takoda's injuries that were discovered on his dead body to what the two women said about McLean abusing him. The prosecution claimed that McLean crushed Takoda by standing on his back and applying all of his weight after punching and elbowing him. After that, McLean made Takoda assume a "punishment pose" in which he bowed his head and crossed his legs while watching television downstairs. After a few hours of television watching, McLean was not done torturing Takoda. He called him obscenities, poured hot sauce on his buttocks, threw him around, grabbed him by the ears, and finally dragged him down the stairs. After that, McLean led Takoda into the bathroom, where he eventually drowned after falling into the bathtub. The Montgomery County Coroner's Office declared that Takoda was a murder victim, concluding that his injuries were caused by blunt force trauma, compressive asphyxia, and water submersion in a bathtub.
